I was having one of those “how can we fix Nigeria” chat with a colleague a few days back and we couldn’t dispute the fact that “Leaders are Readers”. We got to exploring numerous reasons why a large number of people in Nigeria do not read and then I came across this enlightening infographic which delightfully offered a fresh perspective.
Millions of people do not read for one reason: they do not have access to text. But today mobile phones and cellular networks are transforming a scarce resource into an abundant one. Thought provoking indeed….you however failed to factor in the energy/power challenge in africa (Nigeria to be specific) which negatively affects the length of time by which a mobile device can stay on for a lengthy reading exercise
